Be sure to make up ridiculous rules and then rub your religious freedom in the christers' faces when they object to enforcing them!
Otherwise what's the point of making a new religion?

You will have to outdo the Mormons, Scientologists, and Moonies in the modern insane nonsense sweepstakes to have any chance of it catching on. The bar is already set pretty high. And then you'll need a business plan with detailed marketing strategies -- you know, for "spiritual outreach".

You might want to define marriage in your religion as being a union between a hedgehog and a desk lamp. Then you can tell everyone else they have to live by that definition too, or else they're oppressing you.
