At first the apostles preached primarily to jews and thought that believers needed to follow the jewish law and tradition. Then Peter and Paul were separately given revelation to the contrary. The apostles and elders in Jerusalem considered the matter and wrote a general letter saying that Gentile converts did not need to be circumcised or keep the law except for a couple points. See Acts 10 for Peter's revelation, Acts 15 for the Jerusalem council, and pretty much all of Paul's letters.

Paul gives the example of those who have been raised believing that eating food sacrificed to an idol is in effect worshiping that idol. While he didn't believe that to be the case, it was so ingrained in some people that the sensitive and pragmatic thing to do was to abstain from such food when with those people.

One of the 12, simon/peter. Initially Peter taught as Paul did, but later on got caught up in pandering to the Jewish believers. Peter and Paul had quite a falling out over this 'doctrinal issue' for a time and eventually Peter came back around.

He admits how he deceived idiots by claiming to be what he wasn't. The book of Revelation claims that all liars will be excluded from the golden cube. So chances are Paul will be in the lake of fire. Isn't that wonderful?

Peter had supposedly spent years paling around with Jesus. Paul never met Jesus. But Paul shows up and flimflams Peter about Jesus. So Peter was an imbecile.

Acts 10:28 God showed Peter he shouldn't call any man common or unclean.
Acts 15:19-21 James says, don't trouble the gentiles, But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. (The rest they'll learn at the synagogue) For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day. (1cor 8:4, 1jn 5:21)
