I have another question... why do you guys always try to distance yourself from the old testament in the bible? Is it because you know it's full of evil and attrocities... and just as bad as the Koran, so you try to make excuses to avoid having to answer for the stuff in there?

I'm not fooled... because people who say "that's OT stuff... it doesn't apply anymore..." also quote things like the 10 commandments and the story of moses which comes from the old testament...

If God had intended for man to live under the law, it would have been established from the beginning. The Jews rejected Grace and as an example God gave them the law to show that NO ONE is good enough to earn their way into heaven based on works.

Hell is a late addition to the bible it's not canon in anyway to the OT it wasn't referenced in it 
and sure enough it was added to the bible give or take around when jebuss was added.

And what's a rebranding without a foundation story to lend it the veneer of authenticity? Most of the Torah, if seems, is designed precisely for that purpose, including -- perhaps most notoriously -- the "discovery" of the Deuteronomic scrolls.

I think his interpretation might be a little shaky. I don't really read it that way and it seems like a stretch. Also you have to remember that the old testament wouldn't give people instructions to convert anyone. The Jews don't want there to be more Jews and have never been into conversion. It takes away from the specialness of being the chosen people I guess.
