Because, god is omni-present, and omni-being and omni-everywhere, so even in absence it’s there for there is no such thing as true absence.

So i heard that recently and i would like to hear from atheists here what you all think of this statement.

I might use her own logic on her backwards:

Even if you choose to believe in god, you're actually not believing in god.  That's because there are no gods anywhere, so there's no such thing as the true presence of god.  So anything you believe in is not god.  So you don't actually believe in god. 

And then I would add:

It's obvious to you how stupid that sounds when I say it, so why can't you hear how stupid it sounds when you say it?  My argument is exactly as strong as yours, yet they reach opposite conclusions.  An argument that is exactly as strong as its opposite is worthless.  It weighs zero in the scales of persuasion.  

I could point out that you committed various fallacies like equivocation, circular argument, begging the question, but you don't have to understand that stuff for it to be obvious that your argument is worthless.  Any argument that works equally well when reversed is worthless, and you saw instantly that my reversed version of your argument is worthless.  

So the question is ... why didn't you also see that your own version is worthless?  What made you blind to the fact that your argument was patently fraudulent?  Why would you field a terrible argument in the first place, and why--just because you agreed with its conclusion--couldn't you see that it was terrible?  

That's something you ought to think about.

That makes no sense at all. You're saying there's always something everywhere... so therefor that something is God? Sounds like you're just calling the universe God or something.

You might like to start by defining what God means, as specifically as possible. Also, you could add why anyone should care if there is such a thing.

Thanks kindly for the warm welcoming, to be clear, now 26 years of age, ive been an atheist up until a year ago, the change was based on the science first, experience later. So at the very least, i would hope no one thinks of me as a religious person, or some god pusher.

Just to note - I only mean to defend this statement to provoke any fermentation of out of the box thinking that may eventuate from this ^^

So to begin, yes one can identify the universe and god as the same thing. Which they indeed are, the only difference is your personal attachment to one or the other in your beliefs of what you may think can only constitute what the universe truly is or isnt.

God means energy in all states of being, from material, to consciousness. All that connects etc etc

Without going into a need for a long breath of explanation, the only difference between an atheistic mindset of the universe and theistic mindset of god, is that the definition of universe a theist believes in, holds that consciousness permeates all, where as an atheist holds consciousness is subject to the material. This will most likely be the major point of discussion if there is to be one on this topic.

Atheists tend to be metaphorically challenged...they're simply not comfortable with one playing fast and loose with accepted terms and ideas.

If it cannot be comfortably transferred to a truth-table....don't bother treading through the mire.

To believe in something it to hold it to be true. Even if my brain is chock-full of God, if I'm not aware of it and don't believe it, I still don't have a belief in God.

Plus, all of the premises are presumptions.

"So how exactly am I "actually believing in god"?" by having any belief at all. For even if you don't believe in the universe, it's still there isnt it.

So? People are wrong about what they believe and don't believe so often it's trivial. That doesn't mean they really believe the things they don't believe that are really true; or really don't believe the things that are really false. The word for someone who doesn't believe something that is really true isn't 'believer', it's 'wrong'.

And on top of everything else, belief isn't a choice. People believe the things they're convinced are true and don't believe the things they're convinced aren't sufficiently supported. You can't suddenly start believing in Santa Clause or that Andrew Jackson was a great man just because you choose to.
