That's your choice if you stick with it, He gives you a way out if you will take it. How do you know that God knows you will accept Christ in the future, it's for certain you can't know the future.

So you admit that despite what the bible says, your god is not all-powerful?

And yhwh is a false war god who has no power over you either.

Funny, though how you decry monotheistic islam which cleaves much closer to judaism than your polytheistic christianity.

See how easy that was?

Likely because 'holy' is a purposely vague term with no real meaning.

 Wrong! Try again.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Given a choice, if all that bullshit were real, I would choose hell over heaven any day of the week.

Really, why? I'm not sue why one would choose an eternal life of punishment over an eternal life greater than one can imagine.

How do you know that?  JC was a Jewish apocalyptic prophet, now dead, who has power over no one, your imagination notwithstanding.

The most obvious reason I know Allah has no control over me is because I've never heard from him in any way. Jesus is setting at the right hand of the Father awaiting His return to resurrect his people, He guides my life every day through the Holy Spirit. Because you do not understand doesn't mean what I know as fact isn't true, actually it means you have deluded yourself unfortunately.

First of all, there is no god, heaven or hell, but for sake of argument, we will accept the bible as the word of god.

The bible god is a warmonger.

One third of the angels left heaven (I guess it is not really that great after all).

Satan does nothing immoral according to the bible.

The only thing Satan did was piss off god by showing Adam and Eve the path to true freedom and happiness.

Even in the Job story, I see nowhere in the bible that states Satan actually did the killing.

Nowhere in the bible has Satan lied.  There are only unfounded suggestions and statements to that effect.

It was not until Dante's 'Inferno' that Satan really started getting a bad rap.

So yes, I definitely choose hell over heaven.

God would never appear to you, it's not the way He works. As I said before God would not ask you to poke someone in the eye, it's not what He does, you are thinking in a child's way.
When God tells someone what His will is for them and they deny and/or ignore it then they sin and are guilty and worthy of being judged.
God doesn't play with His creation, if there was a god like that none of us would stand a chance. I actually made a mistake I thought you were interested in what I believed God was like, but like most atheist you seem only in your own conclusions no matter how wrong they are, interesting for someone who believe atheist are so much smarter than Christians. If you are really interested post to me again if not then we should call it quits at this point in time.

Thanks for the reply GC. I'm just interested in the views of a theist who doesn't believe God is omnibenevolent. Are God's actions constrained by morality? Whether external to him or grounded in his own nature? Is it possible for him to perform an unethical action or is any action performed by God ipso facto ethical? If God is not constrained by morality, are we? Is our morality dependent on the whims of a deity, or does some other moral standard apply to our actions?

This is why I asked the questions. It's irrelevant whether or not God would appear to me, I'm just interested in the alternatives to perfect being theology.

I'm interested in sharing with those who are truly interested in what I believe and I thank you for your responses.

God's action are restrained by who He is, God is absolutely moral, it is His nature, God can not sin. Morality isn't external to God, all morality comes from who God is. I find your choice of the word unethical quite interesting. I did a quick research in the Bible and didn't find the words ethical or unethical, so I went to the dictionary to make sure of the meaning. Ethical, ethics and ect. is a discipline or practice and those are something God doesn't have to do because He can't do wrong, he can't sin. Here's a question for you, if we were constrained by morality do you believe we could sin? No, our morality is not dependent on the whims of God, our morality is based on who God is, this is why God asks us to be holy as He is holy. God didn't make up a bunch of laws to make us uncomfortable though they do. The reason they do, because they go against our sin nature, a nature man invited in long ago and is passed down to every person. God has no sin nature so He has no conflict with His nature, yet through Jesus He understands what we go through. We are born with a God given morality, we can see this in very young children who know what's right and we can see in these same children the sin nature that we inherit because of wrong choices, these things are not necessarily taught they are inherent to us. I hope I've answered these questions and If you have more please ask.

I want to go back to the poke in the eye you proposed. God would not ever force someone to poke you in the eye, He would however work through a persons decision to poke you in the eye to further His will in your life. In other words He wouldn't try and stop the poke, because He saw it as a way to work in your life, hope this clears up this a bit, it is a very lengthy discussion when it come to God's providence over His creation and the scriptures do not give us everything about what it means about God's providence over His creation, there are many things about God we have to take on faith, however knowing He is real is not one of them, He promises to reveal himself to those who accept Christ as their savior.

Not according to the bible I read. But, of course, theists can make up any story they want and it is still a story.

On the other hand; Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely and I guess god can do anything it wants and say it is good regardless. After all, god has no one to answer to.
