Well, you do realise that almost everyone (this includes cops, citizens and gang members) are brought up on John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Alan Ladd and others besides. They all have this cowboy mentality. Take their guns away, and America might just become more civilised and integration for foreigners might become just that much easier.

Sometimes I'm not sure if you're actually serious or just baiting for the sake of it. I hate to think sharing the same planet with people like that. But they do exist, it's kind of obvious these last few years. Everyone being an asshole is feeling save to let the inner anus hang out for anyone to see.

As for crime paying. Yes, it does. Mostly where your attention isn't at. Such as the ones getting away with impunity after the crisis of 2008.

I can only give you a sense of scale and proportion...I can;t make you decide how many people being shot by cops would be an epidemic.  If it hasn't reached your threshold, yet, I could only tell you to give it awhile.  They're really performing, in this metric.  The skys the limit.

Look at your own links and then check state laws.  You'll find that you aren't discussing law abiding citizens at all. You;re discussing citizens who don;t know, or don;t care what the law is, and prosecutors with no will to pursue a clear conviction under their very rigid statutes. Law and order, again, really living up to the terms. 0-2. We've got cops out there going full dredd, and a bunch of da's that will gladly ship someones aunt off to jail for being poor...but fear the repurcussions of sending a kiddie killer to trial over an "accidental discharge". Is this what we're supposed to be begging to have back, if it were to suddenly disappear? Because I, for one, really wish it would.

Oddly enough, France, where you live, has much tighter firearms controls, many fewer firearms, and yet are having a devil of a time with integration.

Actually, it would be trigger happy cops, not the internet, that we have to thank for that.  Cops in the US account for more shootings and gun-death than criminals do in the rest of the developed world.

That;d be nice wouldn't it?  But believe it or not, we don't have an office of government or oversight that even -tracks- those stats.  The number doesn;t, officially, exist.

It's left to newspapers like the washington post.  Whether you believe their compiled stats or not is for you to determine. This is Director Comey (of the FBI), in october of last year-

“You can get online today and figure out how many tickets were sold to ‘The Martian,’ which I saw this weekend. . . .
