I am a theist, what do you think of my proof for God existing?

This is my proof for God existing.

1. Formulate the information of the concept of God, thus:
"God in concept is first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning."

2. Look for instances of causation in reality outside of concepts in our mind.

3. We find countless examples of causation in reality outside of concepts in our mind.

4. From the countless instances of causation in reality, we infer to the existence of a first and ultimate cause.

5. We find that the first and ultimate cause of all instances of causation in reality corresponds to our information on the concept of God, namely, the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.

6. Conclusion: God exists in concept as first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning.


What do you think about my proof for the existence of God?

 
It's not proof, it's an assumption. You can replace "god" with something else and it's still just circular nonsense. "I assume god exists, so with my bias I see god's work where ever I look, therefore god is real."

Instead of abandoning the thread we turn it into a drinking game!  Every time Mariosep responds by simply repeating something he already said we all take a drink!  But if he responds with these EXACT words, "God in concept is first and foremost the creator and operator of the universe and man and everything with a beginning",then we all take three drinks.  Every page of nonsense will all take us all dangerously closer to chronic alcoholism.  The statistics on death from alcohol poisoning would spike alarmingly.  So, yeah, maybe we need to tone it down just a little bit.

I'm pretty sure Mariosep is a believer, and I think he's Catholic. I've encountered him elsewhere on the Internet.

I suspect he's proceeding on the assumption that if he can get someone to agree to the concept of his purported god, he can then convert us to his actual beliefs. The chap is essentially a one-trick pony, but the trick isn't that impressive because that pony got flogged to death 6 or 7 forums ago.

I'll cheerfully play the drinking game but PWI will have to wait till late this evening, after I get back from an outing to the Symphony. (puts a pint of mead into the fridge for later)

Dear atheist colleagues here, thanks for your presence and contribution to my thread.

I am still waiting for Simon Moon to show up.

You see, he seems to be systematic in his comments on my proof for God existing, and complains that I do not attend to his refutation.

Now that I am into full time one on one with him, he only posted one message about his idea of me affirming the consequent is from a textbook of his.

After that post which I reacted to, telling him to think for himself and not depend on a textbook, etc., he has not shown up anymore to date.

But I will check again whether I am correct that to date he has not shown up in this thread of mine, to react to my message to him to think for himself instead of depending on a textbook.

Be back after checking again.

Yeah there is nothing quite like being chided by a theist to think for oneself to throw an atheist off.  I'm sure he is shaking in his boots after your sharp rebuke.
