It's spelt B-O-O-B-I-E-S and it's pronounced DEE-LISH-US.

Faux Latin, ala J. K. Rowling, is handy for made-up words. I grew suspicious of one collection of ... odd ... words in a book and on investigation I found they were actually parts of the human body.

And it's definitely not a species of flying bird.

The géas is from Irish mythology, an obligation placed on a person from birth by fate which, if broken, leads to a bad fate for the person.
