What would change your mind?

I think people on this forum are tired of being asked this question over and over so it might result in a lack of replies.

I'll make a fresh reply even though I'm sure I've answered the question a few times now.

For me it wouldn't be as simple as believing or not believing because of one thing or another.

There are things that make me think about the existence of a god, the possibility of it. There's nothing so far I've seen that makes me think any of the main stream religions are right.

Because I've not seen anything that remotely makes me think there's anything to mainstream religions there's never been much point in thinking about god.

I don't believe if there's a God he wants me to do what other people say he wants me to do, if he exists fine, if not fine. I just get on with it.

The fact that atheists keep on replying again and again it means that this issue create interest regarding how many times it pop up before.
Not only that Paul.
The issue will never stop popping up like a spring because something within tell us that inside and within there is a hidden treasure.
If nothing would be there then the question would have already been put at rest but it doesn't and never will until the treasure is allowed to reach the surface.

For me, I've already put it to rest. There is no god or gods. None of them ever took me up on my invitation to lunch. So, there's that.

The only way you can be right about the question never being put to rest is because more and more people are realizing how stupid god and religion are and they are joining forums like this. So those people haven't had the chance to answer the question yet.

That is silly Nympha.
Why God would take up your invitation to lunch considering that you still do not follow logic?
How can you expect that the universe pop up as per magic and nobody run it?
Give time and when you will start following logic and your mind will be open to all possibility then God will take up your invitation.

In a way it is understandable that many people do not believe in God because of religions.
Religions have done so much damage with all their dogmas and invented so called truth that
too many people are put off but if their would look a bit further over their mind then they would understand that God and religions have very little in common.

Change the fundamental constants of the universe so that pi=3, without altering any other condition of the universe.

After all he specifically asserts that pi=3 in the bible.

It's an FAQ, for sure. And the definitive answer seems to be that an omniscient and omnipotent being would know what would convince me even if I don't, and would be able to convince me if he, she, it, or them wanted. For my part, if there's a tri-Omni God, it's welcome to 'road to Damascus' me or whatever. If it's real, I want to know. If I don't know, it's either not real or not inclined to let me know. If it's real and doesn't want me to know it's real, who am I to try to do an end run around an omnipotent Creator?

Since I was once an atheist I will say that looking for evidence in nature will never suffice. The evidence for God is about nature not within it.

It's real simple.
A god would have to... present itself to all of mankind, since the beginning, ever since it created mankind itself.
No special people conveying its messages, no psychological tricks, no magic tricks, no lying, no hiding, never.

That none of this is present in recorded history, does not bode well.

And that is exactly why you will get apologists bending over backward with some of the most ridiculous statements ever made to defend this discrepancy.

This deity is supposed to be all powerful and therefore could easily make a personal appearance and remove all doubt of its existence.

But apparently that would break our Free Will™.

But, of course, this deity knew what sort of person we'd be from the moment it "made" us.

The arguments usually end up going in circles and I've had numerous discussions that end in, "Who are you to question god??"
