RE: What godly miracle would it take?

Just because we'd become convinced doesn't mean we know for 100%. Just that it would become justified belief. So we could of course still have reached a wrong conclusion even if something miraculous occurred, there's no need for absolute certainty to get involved, which is how it sounds the way you're describing.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

What are you talking about? I said that I know that the same could in theory apply to an alien as to God. I do know that.

The idea of having to be convinced via mind control, that made no sense. Evidence is sufficient to convince under most circumstances, so even if the evidence was a miracle, there's no need to go to such lengths to reach a conclusion of which you're convinced, even if there's no way to know for sure. Going that extra bizarre step was just excessive and seemed to indicate there was a necessity for absolute certainty. Maybe I got the wrong idea but that's how it came across.

Yes it does make sense because unless I am convinced by mind control the God is indistinguishable from an alien.

The problem of evil makes it somewhat difficult for me to believe in a god. I mean, what kind of omnibenevolent god makes his own creation inherit the sin of Adam? Sacrifice his own son so the "guilty" can go free, this is pure evil! How is he omnipotent if he is able to end evil and suffering?
What about numerous children starving and dying because they have no food? God doesn't exist, because if he did then he would certainly help his creation. There is whatsoever no evidence for a god or gods.

THAT would do it.
BTW, the Bible uses that phrase a few times, but what does it mean??
Is it an allusion to a volcano blasting some miscreants into the sky? If it is, seems a little wonky in regards to invoking vomit, a substance thousands of degrees cooler than molten lava.
I'm confused . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

No godly miracle would convince me because the supernatural is unfalsifiable. Thus, any god would be indistinguishable from a highly advanced alien impersonating a god.
Our technology would appear to be miracles from the point of view of people in the middle ages. Imagine if time travel were possible and a time machine were invented and we went back in time and brought our smart phones and computers with us... we could easily convince primitive people that we were godly.

Never had a vindaloo, huh?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Perhaps god is evil, or at the very least capricious. Maybe he likes to watch children starve. Why would he want to help? Can a god help? Just tossing it out for accuracy, as this would be a more rational conclusion explicitly from the above than that gods don't exist.
