I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong tree Whatevs. The answer from both abrahamic camps appears to be "It's totally worth it, if I get into heaven".
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

So, it's perfectly fine for god to instruct humans to rape young girls and murder babies, because he's the big bad boss and he has the right to? Thank you for showing us your disgusting true colors, MK. Wasn't this a discussion about morality?
God never allows rape or to murder babies. He can destroy nations if he likes.

Allows it? He commands it, and sometimes..when he's bored or just feeling pissy...does it himself. You know how tuesdays are slow..nothing like a little genocide to pep up a rainy day.
We're even told he impregnated a very young girl wandering in the desert once...but she was probably asking for it.

No religion-less person recognizes a problem of evil. It is only a problem for those who believe a perfect being created a perfect creation which has obvious flaws to those not imbibing the koolaid. But you make a good point, there isn't much point in arguing with you while you lack coherence. Catholic lady on the other hand seems much more worth the effort. At the very least we may gain some insight into how reasonable people can come to disagree.
It is not actually a problem for anyone. It's intellectually dishonest. Kids see evil and they understand there is a mystery to the world. Atheists are like frustrated kids who say I don't understand and so one else does.
You guys constantly just reassert that you don't know and so no one else does.
There is no problem. If you don't know, leave the mystery a lone. Build ground up from what you know.
Elephant in the room, you can derive God from his name in so many ways.
You can just assess love and it would lead you to God.
You can asses evil and responsibility and it would lead you to God.
You can assess beauty and it would lead you to God.
You can assess value and praise, etc...

Not to mention allowing it is just as bad as commanding it .

I am not here to defend the Bible so I won't. Don't sidetrack the discussion to that please.
Thank you.

These are your gods stories. It seems strange that you would distance yourself from them? Should I go back to God Part Trois, Return of the Douche, now?
Not exactly suffering for a lack of material there, you realize.

I would say since babies are murdered, and women are raped every day, he most certainly allows it, no matter which holy text you're reading from.
Nay_Sayer: “Nothing is impossible if you dream big enough, or in this case, nothing is impossible if you use a barrel of KY Jelly and a miniature horse.”
Wiser words were never spoken.

Allow depends on what you mean, the light of God and proof of God commands we do all out resolve and help to stop rape, muder, and corruption in the earth.
But he doesn't force us to obey his light and command and proof and the leader of ours, that is true, but never the less, he does permit it to happen in only one sense.
This subject is discussed in Quran, and I am saying you will find everything you guys repeat there and God has responses to them.
Give it a read.
I don't understand all humans, but God does. He understands all possible deviations and the cure and way back to the path. So give it a read.
I am not saying to go to it reading it believing it is from God, I am saying give religions their due, and try to give a chance to guide you through his proper religion in midst of the many false swords, inshallalh, you will find the true sword of God that will give you wisdom and peace.

If by "valid," you mean "dodging the philosophical issues with evil in an attempt to make an irrational fairy tale seem plausible," then okay.
