"The battle between science and religion was won the day churches began putting up lightning conductors."
--Asimov (I think)
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I was at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi Mississippi for technical training in September of 1985 when Hurricane Elena came calling. There were 10 tornadoes accompanying the storm which did a lot of the the damage. We had no power or running water. Our food was MREs (military rations designed to be used in the field and called Meals Ready to Eat. We used to joke that the acronym was really Meal Rejected by Ethiopia). Fortunately, there was a Domino's Pizza joint just outside the main gate that was fully operational almost immediately after the storm. It hadn't suffered a scratch during the storm. We joked that it was hallowed ground.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

In the early days of America, churches were actually preferred targets for lightening strikes because of their steeples. They eschewed Franklin's lightning rod as heretical for controlling the "artillery of the heavens." They came around eventually.
That was always funny. Put a building on a hill, with a steeple reaching to the sky, and wonder why churches keep getting struck by lightning. Problem solved with a bit of metal.

It's surely clear by now that Country music followers are also the cause of mass shootings ...

And rightfully so.
Country music is an abomination.

The difference between school shootings and church shootings though, is that school shootings are usually done by one of the school's current students. For church shootings, it's usually an outsider.
"Putting God back in the schools" means compulsory prayer, "Christian" education and curriculum. But you knew that.

Do you find it annoying the way some people assume you're being disingenuous simply because you're a Theist? I swear, there isn't a thing you could say around here that at least one person wouldn't jump all over.

If you don't mind I do an important correction in your OP.

Yes, apparently I still need practice not throwing absolutes out there. I know every single theist doesn't think like this. But people who do, tend to be theists.

Putting God back in schools will also eliminate homosexuality, liberalism, uppity negroes and Catholicism.
