In UK atheists considred more moral than theists.

RE: In UK atheists considred more moral than theists.
If I remember right, Huggy thinks that morality behaves like karma within this life.

So according to that, atheists should be receiving some sort of consequence within this life, for not loving God (on account of not believing it's real, for a start). I don't know what that consequence is. (Sure, in some parts of the world it can get you persecuted or even killed. Here in the UK it doesn't seem to do anything. Are thugs the ones that deal out this consequence?)

If God did decide what the rules or morality are, and he decided one of those rules was loving him "or else", that's some pretty desperate narcissism. I'd consider that poor behaviour for a flawed human, let alone a supposedly perfect super-being.

Which means morals contain and energy and can be put to work if we harness them.

We need to find a way of distilling them out of thin air and bottling them on an industrial scale!

He claimed he was a Christian.
Are you saying that people who do what you consider unchristian things aren't Christians.
That would not leave many Christians around now would it.

Heres a bunch of Christians for example.

Some of Europe is even more irrelegious than the UK so you'd expect whatever the consequences are to be very pronounced there. What are they?

And "religious fundamentalists" would be the nicest people if religion was nice.

If it were nice it wouldn’t have felt the need to turn itself into a religion.

You kudosed the above post, as he himself claimed, he considers himself full of empathy, as most likely you yourself do.

Why should I take your claims seriously?

I don't recall ever accusing you of quote-mining from fellow forum members, but if it's an issue for you, try including the entire quote with some context. I doubt it's the mere act of quoting people that has earned you that accusation.

I seem to have gotten at least the average allotment of empathy. I kudo a lot of posts, including the posts of theists when I think they've made a good point. As a general observation, focusing on who kudos whom is rarely relevant to the topic at hand.

If Huggy74 doesn't take my claims seriously, I think that counts in favor of their credibility.

lol.

If someone is impolite to poor Huggy, no matter the provocation, it proves they have no morality at all. Because that's what morality is to Huggy, apparently: being nice to Huggy.

Do you have a problem with the above?

From your posting behavior, it seems you do. Or is it because you hate yourself? At any rate, I've never seen a post by you that made me think: Boy, say what you want about Huggy; but it's clear that he loves us, just like he believes God wants him too.

You'd think that if he really believed in this stuff, he'd be nice to people here.

Anyhow, I've figured it out. Atheists must be more moral, with respect to looking after each other. This cancels out the immorality of not loving God. That's why irreligious countries end up with no penalty. Moral maths.

As Mister Agenda said, Huggy doesn't seem to understand the word 'most'.

Something that can't be quantified...

Certainly something that can't be countered with cherry-picked anecdotes. The mere fact that you need to go back years to find enough examples to make it look impressive supports MY point.

My question was: "How do atheists define morality?"

Your answer was "Not fucking the altar boys."

So are you implying the 'buggery' of underage boys is only immoral if they are altar boys, or the offender is a priest?

I think he's implying that it's MORE immoral if they are altar boys and the offender is a priest. Harvey Milk is a statutory rapist who shouldn't have a statue and should have been brought to justice, but his relationship with a sixteen-year-old didn't involve any pretense of service to a benign deity.
