A really hard question on Satan and deception.
RE: A really hard question on Satan and deception.
"I have no special regard for Satan; but I can at least claim that I have no prejudice against him. It may even be that I lean a little his way, on account of his not having a fair show. All religions issue bibles against him, and say the most injurious things about him, but we never hear his side. We have none but evidence for the prosecution and yet we have rendered the verdict." -Mark Twain...again.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I don't hate anyone and I'm not bigoted towards anyone. Neither do I think I am better than anyone else.

You hear his side every day. Just turn on your television set.

I had always held the suspicion that Pat Robertson and his ilk were the devil, thanks for the confirmation.

And sure, you don't hate anyone, you just feel that xenocide and whatever else sick minds decided to attribute to their god is okay. You excuse despots with every defense of your imaginary god, and hold to a cosmic view of ethnic superiority as absolute truth. In each and every thread you pass judgement on those that attempt to engage you in conversation almost effortlessly, shirking the responsibility for your own opinions of others off onto some imaginary god. Worthless little shits that starve in some African hellhole deserve it, and it's their time to check out, as decided by your imaginary god, which is simply a front for those two qualities you display in spades and yet refuse to own up to.Clap

False piety, false humility, the hallmarks of christs sheep around the board and you do no better.

You shouldn't kill anyone.
If you could tell me which parts of the bible to cherry pick that would be great. thanx.

Quote:The mosaic law was for a time and place, and that time has passed. The rules were harsh because the times were harsh and so were the people.

Your god changes what he deems right and wrong as humans become more educated and less violent? That's gotta be a real pain in the ass to keep up with, since god isn't exactly putting out any new books for us to get the addendums.

Quote:Your story is common. You get out into the world, discover you like sin more than you love God, and then quickly abandon the faith, mostly as rebellion against your parents. Then you try to justify it by saying God is immoral, but it was your own immorality that led to abandoning God wasn't it. Funny how that works.

I've already addressed this one with you. I have the same answer. When I was a christian, I started researching to find out what was wrong with me. I wanted to know why I didn't get it and my father did. I went out trying to prove the bible true and only found fraud ... tons of it. Piles of it.
I didn't "discover" sin when I was 18 and think, "WHAT'S THIS?!?! IT'S AWESOME" ... and your accusation of this is event in my life is what you need for you to make sense of the actual reality. Funny how that works hmm.

EDIT, PS: I can't back this up because you don't know my father, but even my father would tell you that I never really rebelled. I simply walked away from christianity. Its even reasonable to assume that I've lived a more fair, honest and moral life than you and many of your jesus licking, hypocrite brothers-in-christ.

Gods judgement is just. The cities he brought judgement against were rotten to the core. Apparently you're okay with devil worshipping child sacrificing savages. And If you remember in His dialogue with Abraham, He agreed He would spare the city if there were even 10 righteous people in it.

I don't excuse God, I am saying He is right. God is sovereign, and everything in the Universe belongs to Him. He has a right to adjudicate His Creation as He pleases. Your skewed interpretation of that is not even interesting, let alone relevant.

I'm not anyones judge. If the word of God judges you, it is because you're guilty. Also this statement is hypocripsy at its worst.

I have my own opinions, which agree with God in every case.

Don't put words in my mouth because I never said that or anything like it.

If people followed what God taught us then no one would be dying of starvation.

I have nothing to own up to, I am being accused and the accusations are false. I don't hate anyone nor am I bigoted towards people. I believe every human being is of value and has intrinsic worth. I would give you my last dollar if you needed it. I don't live up to Christs standard, but I am certainly nothing like what you're portraying me as here. You're only interested in melodrama and character assassination. You can't go two seconds without making a snide comment, getting your little digs in to show off. I only ever saw you be real with me once, when I apologized for saying something rude to you. I am not really bothered by judgement from a manufactured persona.

Unless that manufactured persona is a god who agrees with you in every case...oh, I'm sorry, I got that backwards. Oh well.

I remember another dialogue god had with abraham......what was that you wanted to say about devil worshipping child sacrificing savages again?

How is it you claim to have knowledge of the bible when you don't have an understanding between the old and new covenants?

When Jesus broke the power of death, it was finished.

It's not what I need to believe, it's because I know human nature. Your whitewashed version of the events doesn't match the emotional responses you have given me, nor your testimony about your life i general. Whatever you say, it all comes back to sin.

What I do know about your dad is that you broke his heart, and that he is pleading the Lord for your soul every night.

I mean, not to judge him or his relationship between his father and his self from a position of ignorance right?

Again, if you want to talk about something then pick a topic

It's not ignorant to say that a sincere Christian, as he described his dad, is going to be heart broken over his son rejecting god, and most likely blames himself. It has to have brought him a great deal of pain.
