I invite you to think that through. If a political candidate offers to forgive all or part of your student loan and you vote for him, how is that a guarantee that your loan will be forgiven? 

If a politician proposed forgiving the loans of ONLY the people who voted for him, that would be bribery, and I’d be the first one to condemn it.

If you went to Harlem and handed out money - would you secure the upper middle class vote?

In both case you make no quid pro quo.

College debt still remains one of the only debts that cannot be erased through bankruptcy. We have all sorts of predatory lendors, and we do nothing about it because those predatory lendors own people like Mitt Romney. He doesn't know what bribes are, probably because he takes them and calls them 'donations'. Mostly from wealthy people like himself. We need to lift people out of poverty. Erasing college debt would be a good start. Free public college education would be an excellent next step, followed by universal medical care.

"HOW ARE WE GOING TO PAY FOR IT!?" people ask.

Funny how nobody asks that when we're buying thousands of aircraft that can't even fly, and spending more on our military than the next 10 countries combined. It's because nobody really cares how we pay for things. They only care when it's things they don't want other people to have. We'll find a way to pay for it. A tax on the rich and a decrease in military budget and police budget would go a long way. End the frankly useless war on drugs. Get rid of private prisons, and reduce the prison population overall.

Forgiving student debt to solve a crisis of student debt so we don't end up impoverishing an entire generation needlessly. Something we would need to reckon with economically further down the line and will impact the national economy is not the same as giving money to black people for votes. One a bribe the other solving a problem of national interest.

I heard he gave money to a church for charity. I also read the usa gives the most money through charity and religion is the main reason why. If you become atheist you're less likely to give. Does this bother you? Will children in Africa die b/c of  atheism? Just curious.

If you mean Romney, I assume he gives to the Mormon Church (which is understandable).

If it's true the morre religious you are the more likely you are to give to charity then if we become an atheist nation will we give less and willl more people die to lack of charity? Does this make logical sense to you?

My wife and I are atheists and we donate to various charities on a regular basis.

If it’s true that religionists give more to charity than atheists (I have my doubts), I don’t think the poor will suffer from lack of funds. Less charitable giving will be needed because general revenue will be enhances - no more tax-free churches.
