THE Gun Thread
RE: THE Gun Thread
What I’m hearing, is that when we arm teachers…we can’t go with any pansy shit. Deagles for every kindergarten teacher…and when that fails…how’s about a saw for every ta?

Fucking nut. Bitches about people imagining things but can’t keep his mouth shut.

He may well have had a CCW piece on him - but may have decided a ultra compact .380 wasn' t ideal for a hostage situation.

I don't know if he had a gun - nor do you or anyone else here - but I would be surprised if he was unarmed.

I know I wouldn' t go into such a situation with any light CCW pistol.
Jesus fuck.

If he had a gun with him, why would he borrow one?

I am over this shit.  Something has to change.  And if it means that fewer people get to have guns, so be it.

How many little kids have to worry about dying by getting shot at school do we really need?  Like they aren't going to grow up fucked up after watching their friends and teacher killed while the police stand by waiting for a key?

I'm so done.  For one of the few times I agree with 37 - you are a gun worshipper.  Everyone else is collateral damage.

I explained why he would borrow a gun.

I carry a little bitty pistol chambered in .380. It is for close range - 20 feet. For the most part it is sufficient for any scenario I expect to encounter. That does not include taking on a maniac with a rifle. It would be better than nothing - but I would prefer to stack the deck more in my favor.

I expect the agent borrowed a shotgun because either 1. He had no gun.
Or
2. He felt the gun he had was insufficient for the task at hand.

Knowing many off duty LEOs carry light handguns - 38 special or smaller - I would bet on #2.

I do not worship guns.

I am simply realistic. Nobody is going to wave a magic wand and make all the bad guns disappear.

Blame the Chinese.

Yeah your never going to get rid of all the bad guys so you know what we get rid of laws while we're at it. It's not like they make the bad guys disappear. We should only do something if it totally magics the problem away  Dodgy

It isn't (primarily, at least) about the hardware, although that's clearly a contributing factor. There is something wrong with American society - it creates people who think shooting up schools is a good idea.

In the ten years from 2009 to 2018, the US had 288 school shootings. The countries of Mexico, South Africa, India, Niger, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Brazil, Canada, France, Azerbaijan, China, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Kenya, Russia and Turkey had 29 combined. The other 178 countries in the world had none.

In addition to making guns harder for some people to get their hands on, maybe the US could look at things like better mental health services, domestic abuse, poverty, bullying, and so on.

Yes, blame the Chinese, because what -isn’t- a good excuse to blame the Chinese, amiright?

By even suggesting arming and training teachers, you’re tacitly admitting that these kinds of massacres will never, ever stop. Talk about ‘roll over and enjoy it.’

Border Contol Agent  Jacob Albarado - the man who took the monster down ADVOCATES ARMING TEACHERS. So we should listen to you WHY?

Are you saying you could do better?

Are you meaning to tell me that you take the word of a man inculfated into an organisation whose standing order is "if it looks Mexican, shoot", an organisation whose closest historical parallel is the Sicherheitsdienst?

Yeah, I'll never be stupid enough to think that more killing's the answer.

I have to go back to this for a sec

Quote:Personally, I have noticed that the media almost always assumes that ostensibly racially motivated shooters are Ring-wingers but in the later revealed social media dives we often see lots of anti-capitalist rhetoric and disgust for right wing politicians and media figures.
This is a very dumb position. Being Anti Capitalist and not liking certain Right-Wing figures doesn't make you not Right-Wing. Plenty of Right-Wing extremists don't like capitalism because they believe it's run by "Globalists" and don't like Right-Wing figures because they aren't extreme enough. So your position is nonsense.

Quote:That creates a disconnect in mainstrean debate because left wing politician/pundits I truly believe that in their heart of hearts they think that their policies will crack down on them redneck deplorables. Otherwise, why was there such reluctance to admit and crack down on the obvious violence of antifa thugs and some BLM activists? Once the Left finds in no longer useful to lie about the politics of these shooters, using them to smear a God given right,... once that happens...believe me their shooters and bombers will suddenly be called civil rights activists.
Lol, there is no comparison between these two groups a hand full of kids in the black block and a few dozen rioters is nothing compared to the paranoid and heavily armed nutjob wing of the Republican party. Who won't smash a few windows they will go full Night Of The Long Knives, And no one lied about shooter politics they were on your side of the political spectrum and motivated by rhetoric your side popularized and guns are not a right given by God or anyone else, And you can't smear what already looks bad.

Glad you went back to it. I’m still processing the idea that anyone, under ANY circumstances, could even potentially equate the mass murder of fourth graders to civil rights activism.
