That's like saying a parent has a right to hurt their children just because they gave birth to them. No they don't; they may have the might but they don't have the right. Same thing with a hypothetical god; it has the might to mistreat its creations but not the right. And if it chooses to do that, then if it also gives me free will, the one thing it can  never get from me is my truly, freely, willingly given love and respect, no matter how it mistreats me with its might. Sure it might break me, but that is not the same as truly, freely, willingly given love and respect.

Well, let's hope that's not the case, but yeah, something like that could explain it. It just always surprises me that theists so often get bent out of shape about people exercising their supposedly God-given free will rather than blindly and unconditionally worshipping their god no matter how unfairly they are treated in return.

Even if you are blind and deaf; you still have thoughts and a brain.

The obedience is for getting rewards only, but the more one is obedient for God the more they realize that this life is a mere timed simulation that will end very soon. So it won't last, no pain in this simulation will last, it is only for a timed period.

Being a timed test is in itself a mercy deserving obedience. Imaging if instead, humans lived for Millions of years, with chronic diseases.

I'm sorry to hear that. My sister has pretty much the same thing, and can barely get up the stairs sometimes. It's just so horrible seeing someone who used to be so vibrant and full of life reduced to that.
