But you're losing that argument...

Bring it on!
Explain the Ezekiel passage! It's plainly child sacrifice. You pointing out how that contradicts with other traditions does not help your case. You're merely showing how the Bible contradicts itself!

You? No, nobody is allowed to cut-and-paste large tracts of text from external sources, especially copyrighted text.
You're expected to do what everyone else is expected to do - quote a portion of it (consistent with the fair use doctrine) to establish some context and link to the original source.
You are not a special little snowflake and aren't being singled out for special treatment.
But, please, don't let us interfere with your martyr complex.

But, please, don't let us interfere with your martyr complex. What are you talking about? I consistantly see entire videos being ripped off and displayed to make an arguement, and there are entire thread that were created based completely on the written works of others. Some have references and others do not. Matter of fact the thread I was referencing was completely based on the works of others. All that OP did was cut and paste large chunks of published work together. I responded in the same spirit and effort that OP posted in. His works remain (along with other atheist works of large swaths of publushed work being presented as the back bone of their arguements.) and nothing is said or done there.

Drich - we act on those that we see or are reported, regardless of who the poster is. If we don't see it, we can't act on it.

READ THE CHAPTER FOR YOURSELF! The Whole first half of the Chapter is God explaining all of the times the Jews betrayed Him and How they betrayed Him even after all that He had done. Verse 27 is God allowing the Jews who wanted to worship other gods the freedom to corrupt themselves by sacerficing their sons.
Try a different version of the bible if you are having a hard time understanding this concept.

Quote:25 Moreover I gave them statutes that were not good and ordinances by which they could not have life; 26 and I defiled them through their very gifts in making them offer by fire all their first-born, that I might horrify them; I did it that they might know that I am the LORD.
(bolding mine)
There is a difference between "allowing the Jews who wanted to worship other gods the freedom to corrupt themselves by sacerficing their sons" and "making them offer by fire all their first-born". The first implies that there is a choice, the second (from the passage) does not.

I read the chapter! That's not what it says. NLT is not a serious translation. It's a water downed version to appeal to the popular evangelical market.
The verse says nothing about sacrificing to "other gods"! That's only found in your translation. It's not in the text.
