Atheists Gone Wild: Reign of Terror Kills Thousands in Less than a Year

RE: Atheists Gone Wild: Reign of Terror Kills Thousands in Less than a Year
I'm more wondering what relevance this has, considering these individuals killed in the name of their own power and not atheism [which is what I know you're getting at here], as is evidenced by the fact atheists were among those being killed by Stalin, Ho Chi Minh, and Mao [you also forgot Pol Pot you racist Westerner].

Killing in the name of power, by any other name smells as sweet as a sack of shit.

Pol Pot was just a pawn of the imperialist Vietnamese.

Killing in the name of atheism has become such an overused logical fallacy. Killing in the name of power is the root reason for all these people...Urban, Stalin, Hitler, Bush, Obama, etc.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Yeah, I honestly don't actually tend to tie Hitler to the catholic church until people start claiming he was an atheist, then I have to point out that all evidence and information states that he was actually a catholic, albeit with some seriously warped views, and an atheist he most certainly wasn't. And theeen they say Stalin was an atheist and he killed in the name of atheism, completely forgetting atheists were often standing right next to orthodox catholics and christians on the firing lines, so evidence therefore points to the real reason being consolidation of power...same with the other godless commies. One cannot help but notice that the men at the top weren't just at the top...they were at the top for life. As in, dictators for life. Totalitarians. They were the gods of the communist party and they passed judgment like gods and demanded worship and slavery like gods.

And then always comes the "well they were still atheists," completely ignoring the little point about the power they wielded.

Any institution with too much power will oppress others, oftentimes violently so. That's just how it is.

I didn't forget them so much as not mention them. I see you're in the mood for silly power games, whereas it's way past my bedtime and I'm too tired to play silly buggers. Night night.

Yeah sure. I bet I could make up some ruler and you would say the same thing.

Why don't you try me instead of dictating my response?

Actually, you know what? Fine. I didn't focus on Stalin to the exclusion of all else, I just tried to pin you down to what I understood to be the subject you were tapdancing around, seeing that he is the despot of choice for the desperate apologist. However, if pretending that I as a Westerner am obsessed with old Joe is what gets you off, then go in good health with it. I just don't want to see it, thank you very much.

On that note, I bid you good day sir.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Well if you knew what an apologist was in the first place maybe you would have a semblance of a point.

That would be quite an achievement, since I wasn't trying to make a point.

Just a little curious why the atheist/christian thing always turns into a "You murder more," "No, you murder more." debate. Some Christians say that there are no true atheists. Can we clear up all that little bullshit before we start moving on to the "atheists murder people, but we're not really sure if there are atheists" thing? Way to convolute shit Catholic newb.

I won't insult you. Here's a fact the can't ever be disputed. Ever.

More people have been murdered in the name of religion than any other idea ever. And before we look at the French revolution as all the atheists victimizing the faithful, let's actually look at the reasons the revolution occurred in the first place. Primarilly, starvation and malnutrition were runnin rampant, and citizens rights were being oppressed by the monarchy. There was very little separation between church and state, and many social edicts were instituted by the church that further alienated the peasantry from nobles. Couple that with the fact that France was headed towards bankruptcy and you he all the key critical ingredients for a modern revolution.

Now what were the results of the revolution? The establishment and ratification of a constitution protecting the inalienable rights of the common folk.

So we can deduct that the cause was not exclusively religion and the victims of the revolution were not all religious figures. So perhaps this is a moot point, as this is a religious forum and the French revolution wasn't religiously motivated, exclusively that is. :/

Ah, oui.
