Way to drive right through being called on such obvious BS. There have to be trees for there to be a forest.

TGAC mentions only civilization. Do you disagree with him?
Doesn't matter if I do, you excluded any other avenues for reasons you did not state in criticizing the one he -did- mention. Did he state that civilization was the only avenue to value Vinny? I don't see that he did.

If when talking about people who exclude themselces from civilisation you mean the redneck fool who chooses to live in the forest or the tinfoil homeless guy - you are nitpicking.

Not at all. Your claim makes the value of human life dependent on civilization. So if civilization is not maintained, then people are justified in devaluing human life. To argue that human life is worth nothing "when civilisation fails" is useless theoreticising over things which do not matter. When will civilisation no longer be maintained? After global warming, when I can book a scubadiving tour of Holland? When zombies roam the planet? When nuclear war comes? When the nazis resurect a cyborg Göring? When the Borg attack? After the Chinese have enslaved us? When the Germans are coming? Should any of these or other apocalyptic event occure, I shall consider the concept of social darwinism to save my own ass.
