What I'm saying is that if God did reveal what happened to the airliner then everyone would know of His existence an faith would be out the window. Being that faith is a first step to coming to know God He want reveal Himself in this way. Besides God created man to help man and that's what's being done.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

If God did something objectively observable, why then, it wouldn't only be gullible idiots who would want to talk to him. We can't have that.

Faith isn't merely the conviction of God's existence. Knowing God exists would only be the first step to worship - which is really the point rather than simply knowing he's there.
As we know from the story of the fallen angels it is quite possible to know God exists and still reject him. Many of the biblical stories are about exactly that.
This denial of proof that he actually exists is far more likely to be caused by non-existence than by some bizarre test of faith.

So god places his bizarre, needless faith-based mind games above the lives of people. Seems like the kind of god to worship.

Really?
Because moses had lots and lots of proof of God and the bible describes him as faithful lots of times.
The disciples saw "gross" miracles lots of times, did their faith go out the window?
The game seems to have changed. In the bible God reveals himself to people in crude and obvious ways all the time, and gives people the choice of whether to follow him or not. Some do, others don't, and the ones who do are called faithful.
Now, apparently, to do the sort of thing he did routinely a few thousand years ago would remove the element of faith from the equation and instead of choosing to follow a revealed God, faith has become no more than winning the game of cosmic peekaboo he started playing when jesus was taken up to heaven.

So all those witnessed miracles in the new testament were performed to destroy faith? Or are you implying that they weren't real occurrences and that the writers of the bible wrote evidence-less fanfic because a "real" days long conversation with god to write these works down would have destroyed their "faith?"

The God character died when the last Babylonian Emperor died with the destruction of the Babylonian Empire. That's why he hasn't said anything since. And guess what? He won't ever be heard from again.

But surely this god thing already knows who has faith and who hasn't, and more importantly, who is going to get faith and who won't.
I don't understand the end. "God created man to help man"? How does creating us, help us? Help us what? Not exist? We wouldn't know if we didn't exist, much like you don't 'know' before you gain a realisation of the self, around the age of a year old or so.
