I'm wondering if there could be a study to learn if strict Catholic teachings and adherence to the no-sex policy lead to sexual abuse of children and pedophilia.

I can't imagine sexual repression as imposed by the church as a cause of pedophilia.
I've always thought these abusive priests were more likely disturbed individuals who had these thoughts of sexually abusing children before they became priests and went into a job where sex was forbidden as a cure.
It's kinda a two part cure, first, sex isn't allowed and second, god will help them with their deviant desires.
