I'm wondering if there could be a study to learn if strict Catholic teachings and adherence to the no-sex policy lead to sexual abuse of children and pedophilia.

It's more likely that the way the church is structured is prime territory for pedophiles and sexual predators. It's not that the church made them that way, it's that the church gave them the perfect opportunity to get away with it and, over the centuries, they have "flocked" to it, so to speak. Now the church is ruled by them and their sympathizers.

@ fr0d0 "they" as in, Catholicism as a religion and those who are in power and are hiding its sick crimes under the name of Religion. Religious rights aren't a thing that matters when it breaches human rights, there's no excuse.
