Hi, professor. Naturally, we would like an end to these dreadful things as well. I would argue that your statement regarding "false religionists" is off the mark; the adherents to Islam (which I assume you're referring to) engaging in this brutality are most likely the "truest" religionists (as far as Islam is concerned at any rate) due to their fundamentalist interpretations of the Qur'an.

In fact, many of these things you have mentioned are the direct results of religion. Evil people create wars precisely because of religion. Are we to believe that the cause is somehow simultaneously the cure?

The problem I have with Christians (as well as other theists) is that I see a lot of hand-wringing about this "fallen world" but precious few coordinated efforts to make it a better place.

Christians look forward to the time when Christ will reign, anyone who looks forward to the last days must be crazy, there has never been such terror in all of history combined, this will be a spiritual war, Satan and all his minions against Christ and all His angels. Powers will be unleashed that no man can imagine, John saw in a vision what will happen and he couldn't describe it, he was only able to reference what he knew as horrible and terrifying.
It will be a war everyone will join into, no murder, but there will be killing by the millions if not the billions. Many will die in disasters before the final war, no one will be considered innocent that oppose God in the finally. What I just described will happen right at the end and, then perfection will reign forever. This perfection is what I'm looking forward to.
