Rasetsu, there is a reason why shellfish are not kosher.
They and all other bottom feeders live in the part of the water where heavy metal and other stuff we don't want in our bodies lay. The fish had to have fins and scales- that leaves out the sharks, catfish and other scavengers. It only took us thousands of years to find out the above apart from the Torah.
