Fantastic episode. I loved it as a kid and I still love it today. It is somewhat reminiscent of the xtian philosophy.
I see it now... The Revelations ship descends and the xtians all gather around and as they are scooped up and whisked away, the last we know of them is the sweet smell of barbecue.
In the babble-book, god always did love a good barbecue.

I think alien/extraterrestrials are highly unlikely if not impossible. They certainly did not show up in those alleged tiny orbiters. Where is the mother-ship? It has to be big enough to be seen as it must be a generation ship. Borg size.
