This is just my personal opinion, but I think he would be a lot harder to run against in 2020 just because he articulates things better than Trump and he hasn't had the same monkey on his back for the past 2+ years.
Whether he's impeached will depend in large part on what Mueller's investigation reveals. I think a more likely scenario is that Trump will be pressured into resigning, Pence will pardon him, because of which Pence will lose in 2020 (a la Gerald Ford).

Could happen, but who is going to run again either Trump or Pence? Seems like in the past couple weeks they're announcing a new one every day or two. It will be interesting to see once the primaries start.
