We were being assholes to immigrants when billionaires paid more taxes. In 1994, there was room for 7k people a day in immigration detention centers, and we started using them to house people we'd never considered them for before. Year over year every relevant metric for competence - lets just ignore decency- has gone down even as funding has increased...ballooned...exploded, really.
