The primary focus should be ending qualified immunity. Bad cops should be punished, and we all know there are bad cops. The cop culture needs to change as well and at the very top there are departments that thrive on abusing poor and minority communities. This is NOT my opinion, it is a matter of fact and has been reported on by many investigations. Policing does not and should not include corruption and brutality. A better force would be a more effective force. If you can't get behind that idea then you are just a dumbass.
And this is why I think what Biker really enjoys is violence being committed by the powerful on lesser people who at least aren't him. But, there seems to be at least some part of him that knows that this is honestly an indefensible position to take, so he just focuses on how all the training in the world won't make cops perfect, so why fucking bother, and he won't even address the question of whether A) we can recruit better people to be cops or B) that abusive cops should be punished for their crimes. Remember when Portland's entire riot squad quit because the cop in this video who hit the woman in the face with a baton got indicted?
He treated it as the consequence of police being held to impossibly high standards. And looking at the video of the incident, looking into what actually happened, and finding very little in the way of an alternate explanation, I'm left to conclude that Biker thinks not chasing, pushing to the ground, and hitting with a baton someone who apparently wasn't even a protester is just too astronomically high a standard to hold the cops to.
Maybe he'll read this and throw a hissy fit at my having the temerity to try and figure out what he actually believes from what he's posted, but what he won't do is actually concede any ground to you, and I'd honestly be shocked if he could actually find some evidence that what happened in that video could have been justifiable.
