The occurrence of violent protests where citizens, cops and bystanders are killed, regardless of who's doing the killing, is a very disturbing sign for our country. It signifies social and economic unrest that is usually reserved for banana republics and dystopian regimes. I think it is easy to write this stuff off to a small handful of crazies but it appears to go much deeper than that. Yes, a few of the participants are head cases who wear horned hats and scream at mirrors, but many of these people have no history of violence or aggressive behavior. These are signs that our country is tearing itself apart and I see nothing changing soon. At each change of administration, the opposing side immediately starts the rallying cry that the new guy is a criminal, baby killer who hates America. Sometimes one side is actually right about that. With a police force that has no respect for human life, this is a recipe for disaster.
