Abraham was dumb enough to go to Egypt in the first place, and then he lied about his relationship to his wife in order to save his own skin. I guess one way Christians (such as Drich) try to rationalize this behavior is that since Moses hasn't established the law yet, lying wasn't yet considered to be a sin. Of course, this directly contradicts the biblical idea that Jahweh is an unchanging god. Indeed, these stories read much like the words in Tolkien's the Silmarillion, thus, fiction on a mythical scale.
