There is, like, eight things wrong with that statement. I'll just pick the most prominent one, which is that a deity which came from nothing didn't come from anything/where/one, and therefore you would have no other option for worship. Given that nothing doesn't have anything in it, including time, your god would be the first extant thing, and thus the first thing to exist in a temporal framework. Life is a concept that relies upon time, after all.
I gotta say, it's really kind of strange that I have to defend your position for you.
