Argument from personal incredulity (argument from ignorance) IE "I lack the knowledge, imagination or intelligence to think of anything else". A common ploy of theists, who respond to what they don't understand with "god-did-it".
Other reasons could include; Occam's razor; it's part of his course in apologetics just as he claimed (I have no reason to think he's a liar) or the arrogance of personal certitude, or the wise attempt to know one's enemy or even to hone critical thinking skills .Some apologists are very bright. (try debating a Jesuit)
Will I debate this bloke? NO. I don't care about his personal superstitions [or lack of them] and do not conflate winning an argument with being right necessarily. Neither have I ever seen debating done well on an internet forum;in my opinion, debates need to be in real time. -Thinking clearly on the fly is to me the most important aspect of debating.
PS @ Ramen; it's 'argument' . I mention this as simple spelling errors make you seem lazy or illiterate, and do not help your credibility.
