It's always a treat (or not) to run into an insular group that believes they've got it all figured out. I was posting in a den of Baptists a while ago before I left when I realized there were no discussions to be had there. Their stock answer to anyone who didn't believe exactly as them (be it atheist, non-Christian, or non-Baptist, even) is that the person hasn't been "truly" saved, and that "it all makes sense if you believe".
Yes, that's their stated position. They don't believe it because it makes sense, it makes sense because they believe.

The only response I get to that is that we all get some sort of divine revelation telling us what's true. When I tell them I haven't, I'm either told I will get one, or they call me a liar and say that I'm willfully rejecting God because I hate him, I really believe in God, and I fully deserve eternal punishment.
All because their book is fucking incomprehensible and it makes them edgy.
