Yes, I guess it was just a classical case of 'sleep paralysis', although it felt real, in a manner of speaking... Anyhow, my mind is clearer now. 

It is pretty cool that you were able to examine and modify your stand based on new information.

I am very impressed that you can take what was a totally 'real' experience
and grant that it might have an explanation other than the one obvious to
 your autobiographical self.  I have no doubt that this thing you describe
 did happen to you.  It's the interpretation that has to be brought up to date.

This is what "open minded" actually is, being willing to change your opinion in the face of new evidence/arguments. Some people who claim to be open minded actually just selectively believe certain things without being able to justify them, then criticise sceptics for not believing those same things.
