I’m also godfather to one of my nephews. While there is a religious aspect to the relationship, it was actually more of a big brotherish situation - I got him out of a few scrapes with the law, that sort of thing. It’s a responsible role, but not a particularly onerous one.

I had a new driver's license (with a 7 year old picture) in the mail two days later...

Lol, one of my brothers did part of his national service in a documents shop, and one of his duties what to make up driving licenses and license renewals for soldiers on the base.

He didn’t have a driving license when he went into the army, but he had one when he got out.
