I only asked my Godfather for a favor once.....
When I got out of the service - I came back to.Michigan without a drivers license.
My godfather's direct boss was Richard Austin - the Michigan Secretary of State.
I had a new driver's license (with a 7 year old picture) in the mail two days later...
Lol, one of my brothers did part of his national service in a documents shop, and one of his duties what to make up driving licenses and license renewals for soldiers on the base.
He didn’t have a driving license when he went into the army, but he had one when he got out.
