Hmm... I fly several times a year and I'd swear that the throne seats are plastic, but I could easily be wrong. There is a metric asston of stainless steel though.
Though, in this case I think at that stage, it was academic.
These days toilet seats are probably Microban plastic, but I haven't flown commercial in 25 years so Idunno.
There was no toilet on the B-29 I flew on last fall . . .
