Literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

All right, we need a ruling on labeling people thusly by race. It's getting kind of old. At any rate, your opinion does not mesh with history. If you think that millions of people dying at the hands of other people is a situation sans villainy, you are delusional. You have moments of clarity and insight that give me a sense of being on the same page, if you will. However, comments like the above do not mesh with that other side of you. I sincerely think that if your overwhelming cultural identity were not so ingrained in you, you would be open to a much broader way of thinking that would suit you well. This does not suit you, in my opinion. I would love to see you try to think outside of the racial boxes you place people into, honestly. You seem capable of compassion and thoughtfulness. Where it hits a dead end, I am not sure. However, it is quite clear that you indemnify your culture while holding others in disdain. If you were a character in a story I was writing, I would have you make a friend or romantic connection that helped you see the world differently. It would be a cliche of the weakest sort, but it would be better than this hogwash that mars your otherwise decent personality. Alas, I can't write people into being more mulitcultural or accepting.

You know, from the perspectives of my fleeing relatives in the 30's, there was a pretty damn big set of bad guys.

Well, do try to take what I said as well-meaning. I mean it. I see posts from you in some thread and think, "He sure has potential." I see other posts and think, "Fuck, he went backward again." I realize that is just based on how I feel people should think and behave, but I'm positive I am not the only person who thinks that way and I know it is a more harmonious way of thinking. There is a lot to be said for background, though. I am sure you are considered forward-thinking among your peers.

Meh. They were just Jews. No one is asking their opinion. Tongue

No surprise there?

Does she think Adam rode on a dinosaur?

Certainly not! Anyone could get the impression you think the woman is a maroon.

Of course Jesus did [rode on a dinosaur). Every literalist Christian is familiar with the story from the Book of Luke (1347:125) in which Jesus removes a log from the eye of a T Rex, making it his pet. Cool Shades

It might conceivably be argued that during a time of war, with people on all sides trying to kill everyone else for varying reasons including (but by no means limited to) strategic/materiel advantage, retaliation, territory occupation/denial, or just plain genocide; with cash channelled from supporting the health and well-being of nations and into developing new and exciting ways to kill more and more people with less effort; with non-combatants targetted for destruction in their tens of thousands, either 'accidentally' or to divert attention away from key military structures and onto civilian population centres - given such circumstances, the best that might be said is that there are no good guys. Or at least few with any influence.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Shell, you are beautiful.

Although everyone here already knows that you are a better person than I - I just want you to know that I now know it too. I have not patience for hate-spewing dunderheads with two faces, regardless of the quality of the other face. I was baring down and gritting teeth until I read your follow-up post. Thanks for bringing me back down and relieving me of my hostility.

Kudos to you my dear.

Cin Blush I rarely have patience, dear or maybe I just wish I had more. I appreciate the compliment, though.

Shell B, I know you mean it well, and I wanted to reply to your post, but I really do not want to spoil the thread by talking about this.
I just want to say that you're right on most of the things you've said.
But I cannot defy myself, nor change this path I'm on. I've taken a vow, and I do not regret anything.
I am capable of thinking in broader terms, but I do so for the sake of empathy. That's all I have to say.
