Literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Re OP:

How can ANYONE possibly think that???

They weren't named Edward James Hitler or Laurence Winston Himmler!!

I mean seriously, what is in this bitch's head?!? Air??

That's just stupidity on a level that one should be afraid of and slowly back out of the room upon hearing.

I just want to say that you're right on most of the things you've said.
But I cannot defy myself, nor change this path I'm on. I've taken a vow, and I do not regret anything.
I am capable of thinking in broader terms, but I do so for the sake of empathy. That's all I have to say.

You're right. I'm sorry I went all, "Hey, look at Kilic" and derailed the thread. I still have hope for you, vow or none.

Although everyone here already knows that you are a better person than I - I just want you to know that I now know it too. I have not patience for hate-spewing dunderheads with two faces, regardless of the quality of the other face. I was baring down and gritting teeth until I read your follow-up post. Thanks for bringing me back down and relieving me of my hostility.

Kudos to you my dear.
Gritting teeth? What for?

No surprise there?

Does she think Adam rode on a dinosaur?

Certainly not! Anyone could get the impression you think the woman is a maroon.

Of course Jesus did [rode on a dinosaur). Every literalist Christian is familiar with the story from the Book of Luke (1347:125) in which Jesus removes a log from the eye of a T Rex, making it his pet. Cool Shades

Wasn't that a Billy Hicks routine?

Well, there are factors that you do not take in account, Shell. Things are different here, and ways of thinking, and life are different here.
If I were born in, say, America, I'd have been a different person. Less cynical, more optimistic towards life, perhaps, or just not really caring, or adhering to any particular way of thinking.

You're wrong. I do take them into account. We wouldn't have had this conversation if I did not. At any rate, I concede that you are right and I derailed the thread. We do not have to have this conversation.

No. In the routine, he talked about taking a splinter from the paw of a brontosaurus, and sending it to Loch Ness. And the Scots did give thanks. Thank you Lord, Thank you Lord.

And regarding the OP: How does the British being responsible for the Holocaust make any sense. Hell, they're even responsible for setting aside land for a Jewish homeland in Israel from 1920-1948!

I thought a little, and said, why could this friend of yours made a comment like that?
Really, there must be some sort of a reasoning behind it.

It is true that the British operated internment camps during the Boer War of 1899, but we didn't invent the concept. It seems our contribution in that area was to coin the name "concentration camp". Maybe that's what the person in the OP was alluding to?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
