Religion helped my drug-addicted friend get help... that's about it.
And she still believes in evolution, the big bang and science first.

Some of the various myths across different cultures are very interesting stories.
I especially enjoy the myths of the Vikings and Greco Romans.
Religion gives me something to talk about on the internet.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
I went to a monastery and there were loads of kittens they were sooooooo cute. I liked them.

What do I like about religion?
Lol, sorry, but I couldn't resist! I guess this is true in an ironic sort of way, it is the only thing I like about religion.
"Sisters, you know only the north; I have traveled in the south lands. There are churches there, believe me, that cut their children too, as the people of Bolvangar did--not in the same way, but just as horribly. They cut their sexual organs, yes, both boys and girls; they cut them with knives so that they shan't feel. That is what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling. So if a war comes, and the Church is on one side of it, we must be on the other, no matter what strange allies we find ourselves bound to."
-Ruta Skadi, The Subtle Knife
I love the contention generated, the controversy.
I love to be in the middle of things, but will ever remain a slave to my rationality. Thankfully, there is an abundance of stupid people and ideas to nestle between and make a bigger deal out of than it is worth. But definitely the contention. My conclusion is that there is no reason to believe any of the dogmas of traditional theology and, further, that there is no reason to wish that they were true.
Man, in so far as he is not subject to natural forces, is free to work out his own destiny. The responsibility is his, and so is the opportunity. -Bertrand Russell RE: What do you like about Religion?

"What do you like about Religion?"
I like the ability to excuse evil. I like getting a wafer for free. I like feeling self-important. And I like dreaming. I should be the next pope/ "What do you like about Religion?"
