If you have any leads on actually being able to prove your god is real, then post it here. I'll be waiting.

We have a massive thread for this, few hundred pages, still nothing.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
Which is because after they get finished saying "god talks to me" that have nothing left which resembles actual evidence.
But, by all means, feel free to ask them.
Good luck with that FTR.
"No-one who decides that scientific evidence is not for him and that his own experience or the stories of others is the be all and end all of deciding what's true ever has the right to call people searching for reliable, repeatable evidence narrow-minded. That is hypocrisy of the most laughable kind." Derren Brown - Tricks of the Mind.
He's showed himself on toasts and dogs anuses. What more proof do you need, really?

Of course god exists ... in their minds. As an atheist, I'll stay away from asking that question, unless provoked. We have ample evidence to refute any existence of god...or atleast all the gods of the revealed religions. Its probably better to discuss this subject with a deist rather than theists.

I want to discuss it with anyone really. I just want to hear their best case for the existence of a god. Apparently all the cool kids these days are asking you to define what exact evidence you are looking for.
Then they plan to say that you are too narrow minded in what you consider evidence. They think its a clever trick.
Self-authenticating private evidence is useless, because it is indistinguishable from the illusion of it. ― Kel, Kelosophy Blog
If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside? The f**king janitor or the dude who runs the waterslide. Throughout history every mystery. Ever solved has turned out to be. Not Magic. ― Tim Minchin, Storm
Expect a lot of answers that invoke seeing god in everyday life and reaping the benefits promised by said god. In other words, you will get no evidence that exists outside of their head.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
Another thing is that people continue to use arguments from centuries ago that have been thoroughly refuted. First cause, teleological argument, argument from design, etc...
My favorite is when they try to argue for their specific flavor of religion based on scripture ot personal experience. It is usually after you ask them why they don't believe in any of the other religions. Then they usually dodge the next question which is "Don't all religions claim essentially the same thing?" The real answer is that yes all religions claiming a god or gods claim the same thing. What they claim is that they know god exists because their scripture says so. They know their scripture is true because they have experienced god in the way their scripture describes. It is circular. Scripture is true because god exists. God exists because scripture is true. I also love when I say "why do you believe in god" and then someone says "look around you". That's so annoying.
