Whether its Jane Eyre or Harry Potter, people who've read the works find certain topics of interest to be mentally simulating enough to start up a conservation with other readers to voice their opinions and hear other's responses in turn.

I think it's interesting that instead of defending his god's atrocities, Christian focuses in on the fact that we are simply voicing our disgust for them.
As if we're not allowed to condemn a disease that has been destroying the world for 2000 years.

It's not an act if God never did it. In Genesis 22 God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son as a test-- and stopped him once he demonstrated his faith. In Abraham's time and place, it was normal for pagan religions to sacrifice their children (to Baal). God used this test to show He is different from the other "gods." Instead of sacrificing Abraham's son, He provided a ram as the sacrifice. The ram represents Jesus who, 1700 years later, took our place and died for our sins.

In the mythology, god did do it. He told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. He may have stopped him, but he still told him to do it.
