Who gets to decide which kind of "respect" is intended?

However, beyond our personal bias, our species DOES "value" lots of the same things. We value self, we value love, we value shelter, we value a means to survive, we value the right to complain and bitch about things we don't like. "Respect" is merely protection of ego. While it can work in social structure, it does nothing to foster self introspection. "Respect" is the alpha male part of evolution. And there have been many horrible humans who have gained that "respect" at the cost of others.
So we value other abstract concepts, some of which you do not hate (at present). Got it.
