Why has god made it so hard to defend religion?

Simple: There is to tangable evidence of His existance.
You can't ignore the people who disagree and pretend it makes you right.

Prediction: Certain people of an arrogant and exceptionally idiotic disposition will announce it is to weed out the unfaithful so only the truly deserving earn eternal bliss and the undeserving burn forever. A few of them will use many Bible verses to back their barely thought out assertion as if it is proof. One of them will be a southern baptist harbouring a dark, twisted secret and an incredibly small penis.

God did nothing. The non existent can do nothing.
The idiots who wrote this shit made a lot of mistakes, though.

I don't know if it's hard to defend religion. If you believed in Islam, you can argue for religion on similar grounds as the following:
1. God exists and it's the nature of humanity to know of his existence. (foundation) 2. God cares about humanity (based on foundation) 3. If he cares about humanity, he will send them guidance 4. Therefore God out of his care and grace, sent guidance. Premise 1 has not been proven to be false by anyone, and a lot of people believe in it. Premise 2 is also believed by those believing premise 1. Premise 3 is believed by most of humanity. Premise 4 is thus believed by majority of humanity. This is very intuitive. I remember when presented with people whom believe in God but not Messengers, I said, how God out of his grace, not send Messengers? So it seems Deism needs as much defense as Does Religion. And by premise 1, Theism can be believed in a properly basic manner. Another argument can be along the lines: We know people the more we hear for them and they talk to us (communication). Communication from God would help us know God better. God wants humans to give humans opportunity to know him in best way, hence will communicate with them.
An argument for religion would necessarily imply that you're trying to convince a non-believer. If I disbelieve in the supernatural, on the basis that there appears to be a complete absence of anything supernatural in the universe as far as we've been able to observe it, an argument like that is meaningless. In fact, it is not even really an argument. It's a statement you assume to be true and expect me to accept, knowing I can't confirm a negative. You have to overcome the hurdle of convincing me that anything supernatural exists before you could ever hope to convince me that a particular flavor of supernatural being exists. I don't believe in God, but I also think ghosts and poltergeists are bullshit.
Deism really doesn't need a defense, anyway. It isn't anything more than a blind guess and the existence of the deist's god is irrelevant to humanity. Quote:Premise 1 has not been proven to be false by anyone, Not our job. It is up to the proponent of a position to provide evidence for it. Quote: Premise 2 is also believed by those believing premise 1 Again, not our problem. Quote:Premise 3 is believed by most of humanity. When you consider what people have believed at times throughout history this one is laughable. Quote:Premise 4 is thus believed by majority of humanity. Which proves exactly jack shit. (foundation) So you're saying that God truly does care about his creations, and that he has sent guidance to us. However, that is where issue lies. I have never seen nor heard of His divine guidance being bestowed upon humanity. You can't ignore the people who disagree and pretend it makes you right.
