I call it "head up ass"-itis.
Every link that is not his is some "liberal" tinged source and thus inherently wrong. This is the same guy who can only source a self-admitted political foundation for "unbiased" information.
This is the same guy who claims Obama is a far left politician.

As you can see, Obama is on the right. The Republican party seems to be aiming for the gullible idiot vote now. Yeah well, considering the origins of that dopey loaded political compass test, I would imagine that anyone who disagrees with the obvious undertones of the questions that were asked would be to the right of that ideology. But in this country, Obama is on the leftwing fringe and is rapidly deteriorating to your style of European socialism.
What's wrong with socialism anyway? You blindly believe that whatever the republicans feed you is correct, don't you wonder why most independent (i.e unbiased) disagree with you?

Just because I don't agree with 100% of what they do does not mean that I think it should be changed.
My family has benefited greatly from the NHS over the years.
And you know what, sometime people only need the placebo, if homeopathy is a cost effective way to give them that then I am not qualified to argue.
The point is the NHS works and does not beggar us.
The US system doesn't work and does beggar you.

"Deteriorating," AT? Funny...from everything I've been reading, people in Europe seem to be a LOT happier with the way their governments are running things than we are. You say deteriorating, I say improving. And don't even bring up the debt problems Greece and Spain are having; they got hit by the banking crunch, same as us, but didn't have the same level of credit or tax revenues we have to weather it.
Yeah, when I said I learned something, it was in response to what Deist had been saying about the financial market and how it played out into the 2008 crash. I'd seen a lot of the factors but I lacked the understanding to see just how it all came together. I had the pieces, but not the glue, basically. Deist shed some light on it and it makes perfect sense to me now.
Citizens United, if I may, is the biggest offense the courts have ever given to the American people. The absolute worst. "Corporations are people?" Man, even corporations, even business owners, will tell you that, no, corporations are not people; corporations do not have souls. They don't have the same face from year-to-year, their CEOs change all the time. What the hell possessed the justices to actually rule in favor of that?? Where in the Constitution does it say that "money means you're a person?" Cuz I've read the Constitution like evangelicals read the bib- ...wait, no, that'd imply I never read it... I read the Constitution like...[clever religious analogy here]. Like THAT. I've never, not once, read anything that states money was anything more than a means of legal tender. I don't think the Founding Fathers even imagined something like a corporation could even exist and I'm pretty sure if they had there would be a lot of shit against them. Lots of money being concentrated among an elite few? Yeeeaaahhhh...I somehow don't think that shit would've flown very high with them...given that they had that whole war to escape from tyranny and encroachment on civil liberties...

The Boston tea party? British East India company... I think they knew...
Is a corporation not owned and run by people? Do those people not vote to elect representatives and leaders, who are entrusted to spend the money? As you say, tyranny and encroachment on civil liberties, I doubt (In fact I'm 100% sure they wouldn't) that they would have had much of a problem with somebody becoming rich by engaging in voluntary exchanges with people, the problem is when people try to get rich by other means...
I'll talk about the PIGS later (after a good sleep), but its a sovereign-debt crisis, that's it's name(or at least one of them), I'll leave you with that.

Corporate personhood is a useful accounting tool and it should be regarded as such.
When a business incorporates, it becomes a "person" for purposes of taxes and accounting. The reason this is a useful accounting tool is because then you can determine who owns what assets (the building, the equipment, the supplies, etc are all owned by this corporate person), a corporation can also take on liabilities (borrow money from the banks against said assets), and determine its profits (corporate income less corporate expenses) on which it pays taxes.
Traditionally, this "personhood" was recognized as an accounting technique, not as the literal creation of a being. Corporations, for example, have no right to vote in an election. They can only own assets, take on liabilities and pay taxes on their profits. This ruling is a deep perversion of the personhood concept.
Free speech should be free. You shouldn't be able to buy more speech than your fellow human beings. Therefore, my idea of banning political advertising doesn't conflict with free speech. It only conflicts with additional purchased speech.

It's so ironic that the original "Tea Party" was a rebellion against corporate influence while today's is an astroturf movement by corporations to solidify their power.
This thread with AT joining in only underscores the problem of our modern political discourse in America. The right wing in America has gone batshit insane. Meanwhile, its opposition has moved to the right to become the conservative party.

Creed,
I said this before but i guess you missed it. I was told $500.00 by an insurance man, you know, guys who deal in insurance, get it, that price over a year ago. Check page 3 of this thread CD says i am not far off when he checked with his HMO.
If i check prices now maybe it will be lower but not much I don't believe.
I still say if people live poor lifestyles they should be held accountable (pay more) it personal responsibilty, period!!!!!! If you are a bad driver premiums are higher if you smoke 2 packs a day FU pay double
Thanks for the award I am giving one to you for being out of shape tubby
