i think min is right.

i can't say for sure if he is or isn't, but i'm going to say that based on what politicians are willing to say vs what they really think/feel/do, i'd say there is at least a 50% chance that he's at least agnostic. i say at least 50% because so far, as much as i'd pick him again this time, i'm not fooled by the fact that he ran as a progressive and he's been proven to be republican. lol (but not joking). so,

i'd also not give rev wright much thought. i think whole situation is way overblown in the media. he's simply an entertainer and he says shock-jock shit sometimes to get his crowd a boner. he knows very well, where his bread is buttered and he caters to it. besides, the few times i've had to go to church when i was small, it was a majority black churches ... much of the same level shit was said. just consider the audience - not much good to pray about, right?! so they talk a little shit but mean no real harm. just nowadays, phone-cam caught his ass. hahaha.

Well, for what it's worth, I'll try to sum up what I think is the most accurate vision possible of Obama's religion:

* His parents were irreligious.
* He worked with black churches as a twenty-something, and was impressed enough that he joined one.
* He was baptised in 1988 at Trinity Church in Chicago, and went there until Jeremiah Wright proved to be too embarrassing a pastor.
* In his own word: "I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life."
* Conclusion: he is a Christian, albeit a theologically liberal one.

I really don't know and could not care less; his personal beliefs are irrelevant to me, although obviously not to many of the more truly stupid and/or ignorant Americans.(that is NOT necessarily the same as uneducated)


I think Obama is a highly intelligent, charismatic person and a great orator. In my opinion, he is also arguably the most ineffective US president since poor old Jimmy Carter.

If I was an American, I would not vote for him on a bet, and said so during the election campaign. I thought he was a very slick politician and would not trust him an inch. His broken promises and lame duck presidency suggest to me that my perception was right.

The irony is,given the appalling shower which composes his opponents, he may well get re elected. Anything can happen in a country which elected GWB twice.
