Your contention seems to be that our particular eye in its current state of development requires all of its parts. No shit. I really love the series that spawned Up Pompeii! as well, plus the film itself and the two sequels Up the Chastity Belt and Up the Front, all three of which I own on DVD so I know them very well. In fact, I just love all of the great man's œuvre.
