Quote:It was especially dangerous to be a Catholic priest in these days,

And for the same reason as later Russian revolutionaries offed some orthodox priests. As usual, the church was a willing conspirator in the oppression of the populace.

Just like in the US, preachers drive around in Rolls Royces while the common people ride the bus. In France and Russia the fuckers stole everything that wasn't nailed down.

As Aeschylus said, "Dangerous is a people's voice charged with wrath."

You'll notice a few dead priests and bishops didn't stop Pius VII from signing a concordat with Napoleon just a few years later. Your bloody church never lets a few bodies get in the way of money.

All I said is that I think the Germans were to blame for it.

Is that a lie?

the german law says: denieng the account of victims is forbiddn
declaring people who werent victims to victims is forbiddn

ever heart about hungarian, italian and croatian fashists.
ever seen footage of the ukranian catholics embracing the nazis when they massacred the orthodox russians!
most of the ss was catholic, and the role of the catholic church in the rise of fashism cannot be denied

Yeah, but I live in the United States and we have something we call freedom of speech which means we can't be arrested for speaking our piece, even if the government doesn't like what we say.

You Germans should try freedom. It's long overdue.

And if I get banned from this forum I win because I will have proven that atheists can't take the same kind of heat that they bring when they go into Christian forums and knock over the furniture and break all the china.

You will have proven nothing, except that you broke some very relaxed rules, that you're a troll, and that we got bored batting you around like the little bitchmouse you are, and threw you away like garbage.

If you can't abide by the rules of an atheist forum, I can't imagine what kind of fucked up christian you are.

See you in hell, sucker. Devil

Ohhh, I love the little shitstains like you. You bring me so much mirth, and yet so much fury, all in one fell swoop of stupidity. I don't care if I am feeding the troll because feeding the troll feeds me.

Let's keep it simple, dickhead. You're whining about 26,000 catholic deaths so far. The catholic church has far, far more deaths than that on its plate. A combined lifetime total of anywhere between 50,000,000 to 150,000,000 deaths, with such a huge variation not because of speculation or poor record-keeping but rather the definitions of what type of murder we speak of. If we just say "pulled the trigger" kinds, then around 50 million, but if we start talking about "forced an individual into a situation where they died" then we start talking about the absolute de-population of entire regions of the world kinds of numbers.

Even if we include Stalin into the overall running count (which we won't because Stalin never killed in the name of atheism, only in the name of his own power), we can(not) only bring the "killed by atheists" number up to 20,026,000. Still not even half the overall kill-count of the Catholic church. And then if we include Stalin, we have to include Hitler in favor of the Catholics, bringing the "lowest" estimate of Catholic murders up to around 62,000,000 (and the highest up to nearly 200,000,000 thanks to the fact that because of Hitler starting and waging WWII with the full backing of the catholic church, they become accomplices in every single human being who lost their life overall during those eight years), because Hitler very proudly proclaimed that he was acting in accordance with the Catholic church several times, not the least of which was in his memoirs, "Mein Kampfe." Oh, and the Catholic church was very, very much in favor of fascist regimes, so then we have to extend the number for Italy, Spain, and several African nations and the murders they committed en mass.

To summarize how I address your accusation: Jerkoff

Man, you do a terrific job of reinforcing the very real, very accurate stereotype that all christians are basically a bunch of hypocrites wanting desperately to believe they've ever been really persecuted in ways that would ever justify the way they've persecuted hundreds of millions over the course of 1700 years.

Well, don't stop with that, why don't you go get a preteen choir boy to "seduce you?" Then you'll feel much better about all these heinous crimes committed against the COMPLETELY, TOTALLY PACIFISTIC, NON-VIOLENT, ALL-LOVING Catholic church. *chuckles* Get the fuck out of here, you retarded child-raping shit-stain-on-the-underwear-of-society, you're taking up valuable bytes of bandwidth that are worth far, FAR more than you will ever be.

Quote:The Reign of Terror (5 September 1793 – 28 July 1794: the latter is date 10 Thermidor, year II of the French Revolutionary Calendar),[1] also known simply as The Terror (French: la Terreur), was a period of violence that occurred after the onset of the French Revolution, incited by conflict between rival political factions, the Girondins and the Jacobins, and marked by mass executions of "enemies of the revolution." The death toll ranged in the tens of thousands, with 16,594 executed by guillotine (2,639 in Paris),[2] and another 25,000 in summary executions across France.[3]

Atheists took over France after chopping the King's head off, and then it didn't take long before they were chopping each other's heads off in a crazy party atmosphere called the "Reign of Terror."

It was especially dangerous to be a Catholic priest in these days, because both atheist factions agreed that Catholic priests were "anti-Revolutionaries" who might return France to the bad old days when people went to Church and got fair trials when they were accused of crimes.

So some atheists ordered people to die over 200 years ago. How does this have any relevance to atheists today? That somehow because a few atheists were maniacs means we all are? Does that apply to everything a few atheists did in the past? Percy Bysshe Shelley was an atheist, so does that mean we are all great poets?

Atheists today are not part of the same organisation that those atheists were in. The modern catholic church, however, is still the same corrupt organisation as the one that comitted all the atrocities such as the crusades.

And since when have catholics given fair trials? Ever heard of the inquisition?
