Sadly the Australian Sex Party was a REAL contender as the other two major parties had no real policies and the Sex party did.

They got 2% of the national senate vote at the last federal election. That is just below that of Family First (a Pentecostal Party) at 2.1% and well ahead of both the Christian (Fundamentalist) Democratic and Democratic (Catholic) Labor Parties at 1% each. Not a bad showing for a political party running for elections for the first time at a national level, given the amount of exposure they have had I can see the Sex Party easily doubling that vote at the next election.
