What atheist activities are we talking about?

Awful things like telling people they're not going to hell... Actively not going to church, and baking cakes for gay people.

According to anthropology, atheism is a religion. Anthropology defines religion as a system of belief that organizes the universe and informs the worldview of a person. I actually personally don't agree that atheism itself is such a system; I think actually something like materialism, physicalism, or naturalism is.

Atheism doesn't meet the anthropological definition:  it's neither a system, a belief, nor a worldview.
It is nothing more than a lack of belief in deities.   

I was born an atheist; I was not born knowing anything about "systems", "beliefs", or "worldviews".
All that stuff had to be inculcated or learned later on.

which is why so many gravitate to these beliefs.  People want to have a world view and a moral system, religion can provide that ready made.

Sure.  But you can have either or both without god, and without religion.  

There are plenty of die hard atheists who appear to have simply replaced evangelical religion with atheist activities.

Never met one.

But if there are that many, maybe you can give a notable example or three?

Most Christians I know are indifferent toward atheists.

You're lucky. My wife won't even let me tell her close family that I'm an atheist for fear we would be ostracized.
